EDGE Initiative OBJECTIVES include:
1. Creation of a National Gender Equity Indicators Database founded upon a common Engineering Gender Equity Benchmark Survey; and
2. Centralization and dissemination of evidence-based, faculty gender equity leadership resources and strategies.
Application to and adaptation of women faculty leadership development programs are incorporated within these two objectives. Our goal and objectives form the basis for our RESEARCH QUESTION: “Is there a statistically significant difference in deans’ capacity to effect gender equity change for women faculty as a function of EDGE Initiative engagement level?” Extant theoretical and evidence-based assumptions lead to the hypothesis that there will be statistical difference in deans’ capacity for gender equity change by time and level of dean engagement.
